Sacred Ground

Sacred Ground is a component of the Episcopal Church’s initiative to seek racial justice, healing, and reconciliation. Participants in the Sacred Ground program engage in discussions of race and racism through films, readings, and dialogue.

To date more than 30 people have participated in St. Timothy’s Sacred Ground discussion groups. A common response to the content is “I never knew” or “They didn’t teach us this in school.” Learning is a first step toward healing, and for those who have suffered, it is important to be heard.
Sacred Ground groups are formed about once a year, or as interest dictates.
