Serving the Homeless

St. Timothy’s believes in living out our baptismal covenant to “seek and serve Christ in all persons,” to “strive for justice and peace among all people,” and to “respect the dignity of every human being.” Serving the homeless is an important part of this mission.

St. Timothy’s works with Interfaith Community Services (ICS) to provide hygiene kits and snack packs and to serve a hot meal when needed. Hygiene kits, contain personal care items and are stocked for distribution by ICS. They let us know when they’re getting low, and we swing into action. Snack packs are little brown bags with 4 or 5 treats such as cookies, chips, or chocolate.  Approximately once a quarter members of St. Timothy’s meet up at the Turk Center in Escondido to serve a hot meal, provide company, and engage the diners in a craft or activity.
