Our New Rector

Meet Mother Cecelia or “CC” Schroeder. Her first Sunday with us will be April 7th.

Mtr. CC has been an ordained priest for 19 years, with a background in public education before that. She has been a vicar/priest-in-charge at two churches, as well as assisting at others. The Call Committee and Vestry are thrilled to have attracted her interest. We believe that she is the right person at the right time for this congregation in this place. She grew up in this area, graduating from Poway High. She is currently at serving at St. Alban’s in Yucaipa, CA and Trinity in Redlands, CA. She is married with two teenage sons.

Why the Call Committee and Vestry are excited about Mtr. CC:

  • Her sermons advocate for Bp. Curry’s “Way of Love” philosophy and are relevant to everyday life.
  • She has a proven track record of the biggest priorities identified by the Call Committee, including increasing attendance of young families and building education programs for all ages/stages of life.
  • When we called her references, they gave excellent reviews of her pastoral care, emotional intelligence, and ability to guide discussions.
  • Her references also note her record of engaging the laity of the congregation and empowering them to do the work of the church.
  • She has a strong network of personal support to strengthen her self-care and mental and spiritual health.

Mtr. CC has sent some words for us to share:

To the Good People at St. Timothy’s —

I send you greetings and blessings for the New Year and I hope that you had a joyful and blessed Christmas.

It is with much joy and gratitude that I have accepted the call to be your next rector. St. Tim’s is a wonderful church made of many wonderful and faithful people. I look forward to getting to know each of you and sharing in the ministry that God is calling us to do together.  I am excited to begin serving you as we strive to reach out to our community and give bring God’s love to our neighbors.

During these next few months, I will keep you all in my prayers. Please keep me in your prayers as well.

Yours in Christ,
The Rev. CC Schroeder
