St. Timothy’s currently offers Christian Education for elementary aged youth. Class begins at 9 AM on Sundays for a lesson and activities in the Parish Hall. After class, children have the option to join their parents in church for the Passing of the Peace and Eucharist, or they may go to the nursery.
The focus of the Sunday School program is to build and strengthen the children’s relationship to God, their community, and the larger world by encouraging them to follow the example of Jesus in their own lives. Class topics vary according to curriculum, holidays, church calendar, current events, etc. Please see the current schedule for upcoming lessons.
Regular service projects are also an important part of the program. Past projects have included volunteering at the soup kitchen, lemonade stands for charity, making holiday decorations for seniors, and donating to rebuilding efforts in Haiti. St. Timothy’s hopes to add education programs for other age groups soon, please check back for more information.
Philosophy for Kids
On occasion St Tim’s has a program for kids, parents (and possibly grandparents). This is an intergenerational program meant to help us learn about each other and how we think about complicated questions about the world we live in. It is called Philosophy for Kids.We meet after the morning service and coffee hour for about 45 minutes. All are welcome.
On the last Sunday of each month the children in our Sunday School Programs take leadership roles as ushers, lay readers, and acolytes. They are prepared for these roles as part of their formation in Sunday School as worshiping members of Christ’s church.
